We are challenging you, the great minds of Suffolk, to use technology to solve challenges under our theme “The Outdoors and Agriculture”.
Event Dates – 27th, 28th, 29th March 2020
The Sponsor Challenges
“Grow your own” sponsored by Agent3
See the Challenge from Agent3
The challenge we’ve set comes from a place of wanting to be a bit more self sufficient. We’d like to see some use of technology to help people make use of any garden space they may have to grow their own fruit and veg. As a group, we’re not the most green-thumbed people you’d ever meet, so could use all the help we can get something we can harvest. More people are looking to eat a more “veg-heavy” diet and growing your own could be a really rewarding way to make that transition.
“Getting a Team Up and Out” sponsored by StrateqiQ Marketing
See the Challenge from Strategiq
A recent feedback session found that although some StrategiQ team members are ‘gym bunnies’, others found sticking to a traditional exercise regime to be tough! Fresh air and exercise has proven benefits for both mental and physical well-being, and here at StrategiQ we would like to find a way to use technology to encourage our team to get outdoors and start burning some of those unwanted calories. We have over 40 people at two sites so a solution which helps multi site businesses would also be beneficial.
“Open Category – The Outdoors & Agriculture” Sponsored by Innovate Suffolk

We would love to hear what you come up with under our theme “the Outdoors & Agriculture”. This can be anything you can think of as long as you clearly state the challenge you are looking to solve and it relates to our theme.
We have two categories that you can enter and some excellent prizes up for grabs:

Joining us for the weekend you will base yourself out of the University of Suffolk and have full access to private workspaces, whiteboards, coffee making facilities, WIFI and we will even feed you!
On the opening evening you will be invited to pitch in 60 seconds the challenge you would like to overcome, the solution you have in mind and the skills you need to make it happen. Once everyone in the room who has an idea has presented you will then have the opportunity to form a team around your idea (you may already have a team before you arrive), or join someone else’s team, and then start working in earnest to sprint develop your solution over the weekend.
To support your project we will be running a number of relevant workshops and providing highly skilled mentors that you can make use of if you wish (check out our mentors page for full bios). The only thing we ask in return is that you provide us updates on your projects progress during the compulsory sprint update sessions.
At the end of the weekend you will pitch your solution to the judges and if your team most closely meets the judging criteria you will win this year’s amazing prizes which include £500 cash, provided by Fortis Recruit, and fast track access to the Innovation Martlesham Incubator.

On the Sunday the 3 teams who, judged by the Creative Computing Club, have the best solutions to display will return to the university to pitch their ideas to the judges and find out who will win this years Junior Innovate Suffolk Trophy which they can then take away with them.
