What would one of our key contributors challenge be?

This morning we caught up with Mark Thomas key contributor to Innovate Suffolk, Founder of Coderus and all round tech whizz to find out what challenge he would look to tackle under the theme of our next 48 hour Hackathon “the outdoors and agriculture”. Here is his idea:

“Having grown up on a farm I know that one of the most time consuming tasks is the continuous checking of the animals while out to pasture to ensure they are safe, healthy and happy.

I would look to embrace drone technology to develop a piece of kit that could automatically fly out at intervals in the day and check on the livestock behaviour and health. Utilising the drones camera and sensors it would then be able to alert the farmer to any issues in real time”

What challenge would you like to solve relating to the “outdoors and agriculture” and how would you do it?

Our next Hackathon takes place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of March 2020 at the University of Suffolk in Ipswich. Watch this space for more information on how you could breathe life into your idea and see it become a reality.
